About Me

About Me

Hello! My name is Susan Larsen Daigle and I thought you might want to know a little bit about me.

My personal motto is “Never accede to the status quo.” I base this on a Mark Twain quote: Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

I am a common-sense buff – often the only formula that guarantees positive results. My values include integrity, a, passion for excellence and a commitment to making a difference through my efforts.

If you understand what it means to support your values and let them influence decisions, guide actions and choose your path through life you will succeed.

I am a tenacious lifelong learner and a perpetual student of life. I earned a BS and MS degrees from the University of New Orleans and a PhD in Health Administration from Kennedy Western University, Thousand Oaks CA.

I offer 35 plus years of experience in the Louisiana Office of Public Health advancing from an entry level Laboratory Scientist position to Assistant Director of the statewide division. I have also served as University Adjunct professor in Biochemistry, Cardiovascular Anatomy and Physiology.

I am proficient in the fields of environmental health, public health, emergency preparedness and planning, education and preparation of federal, state and foundation grant research on topics such as alcohol abuse, HIV, obesity, cancer and health disparities. I am a certified Professional Health Coach trained at HealthCoachingU®, Certified Personal Trainer with a specialty in Senior Fitness from International Science and Sports Association (ISSA.)

I am staunchly convinced that friends and family are more important than all the material things put together. I am happiest when I am relaxing on the beach with my family around me, the sun shining down, the waves lapping on the shore and a good book waiting to be read.

I guess I am a romantic, I know I am an idealist and I hope to be an inspiration.
